Inspired by Christopher McDougall’s book, Born to Run, I finally decided to give the Vibram FiveFingers another shot. Over the course of the year, I’ve tried several different designs, including the Jaya, Classic, Sprint, KSO, Trek Sport, before deciding on the KomodoSport LS (aka Bikila LS). Their closed speed lace system is designed to accommodate a wider foot or higher instep. It also allows for a better fit for a wider range of foot types. Well done Vibram for a huge improvement from the Classic and KSO!
So far I have no complaints. I’ve had chronic heel pain for the last three months, keeping me from any sort of running. With the strengthening of my foot muscles, I hope that the pain will disappear over time and I can happily reap the claimed benefits of barefoot running.
